A Few of my Faves

Today, I'm going to share a few of my favorite things..They range in topic, so here ya go.

Snippet from the Sonnet XVII by Pablo Neruda

"...I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride,
so I love you because I know no other way

than this: where I does not exist, nor you
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep."

DOTS!

"LIBATIONS" IS MY FAVORITE WORD

My boo biscuit got me these babies for Christmas

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."~~ Marianne Williamson

There you have it. These are just a few. More faves to come at a later date. What are some of your faves??

Friends..How Many of Us Have Them?

Everyone has a different take on what a friend is. Some put everyone that they know and associate with in the friend category, while others have different groups for everyone. And I'm sure the debate of what a friend actually is can be debated for centuries and centuries to come.

A friend in my book, is someone that I can tell my secrets to. Someone I can count on to be there for me when I really need them. Someone I can talk about any and everything to. Someone who won't judge me, or look down on the mistakes I've made, but will tell me how I can improve myself for the next go round. Someone that doesn't just hit me up when they need something. Someone that knows that we don't have to speak every single day to be friends. Someone who adds to the value of your life, not takes it away. If you can honestly say that you fit into every single one of these descriptions, then you are my friend.

NOW, with all of that being said..why is it that some people push their friends away? Are they afraid to let them in? Are they scared that their ways or their lifestyle will be judged? I don't know. But I can tell you that it sucks. It sucks when you find out that the person you thought was a friend, is not. It sucks when the person you thought was a friend pushes you away, when you've done absolutely nothing wrong. But we can't be too mad about this. We can be hurt, but not mad. Like the saying goes "not everyone who comes into your life, is meant to stay there forever". I'm sure many cant attest to that.
What is your definition of a friend? Have you ever had a friend push you away or keep you out of their lives?

The First Post..

This is the official random ass blog! Anything goes on here..It is Rated Whatever! Now, since we got that shit out the way, here is the first official post.

As much as I love fashion, and what's new and hot in the streets, there is one 'fad' that I just don't like. I don't understand the 'thrift store' look that a lot of black females are claiming these days. It's mostly the college girls that I've seen rock this look. The 'thrift store' look is simply achieved by going to your local Goodwill, Salvation Army, or any type of vintage or thrift store, buying a bunch of shit in a variety of different patterns and colors, putting them altogether and calling it an outfit. I personally will just stick to Forever21, and Aldo. But, that's just my opinion. I don't get it, I'll never rock with it, I just wont. Maybe someone can explain it to me? Or not.

And I guess I should apologize if I've offended anyone..It is what it is :)
